The Emergency Medical Services Boundary is a representation of the geographic extent of each ND DOH licensed ambulance service area (and or licensed sub-station) in North Dakota. The layer is represented by Polygon geometry and is used for determining which ambulance service is associated with a 9-1-1 incident location. This dataset is under continuous development as the 53 counties transition to Enhanced 9-1-1 / Next Generation 9-1-1 as the project is still on going and therefore this data is preliminary.
North Dakota Dept. Of Emergency Services provides GIS maintenance and aggregation services for most of the counties in the State of North Dakota. However, it is the responsibility of the local County and or Tribal 9-1-1 Coordinators to dictate updates. The public should contact their local 9-1-1 coordinator for any questions related to the boundaries.
North Dakota Dept. of Health manages the licensure process for all Emergency Medical Services providers in the state.
Below are listings for county jurisdictions that have had their Emergency Medical Services Boundaries validated and those that are still under preliminary/draft status.
