SensePartners population projections for Wellington Region Territorial Authorities and Horowhenua District Council.
The data is at SA2 level (2018), but limited to the following TAs:
- Carterton District
- Horowhenua District
- Kapiti Coast District
- Lower Hutt City
- Upper Hutt City
- Masterton District
- Porirua City
- South Wairarapa District
- Wellington City
Some SA2s will be omitted due to being unpopulated.
The data range is 2018 - 2048 inclusive, in 5-year increments.
Population is provided as household count, with rows categorized by household type and broken down by percentile per year.
This dataset is pivoted so that geometries can be included without causing performance issues due to the number of records. If needed, an unpivoted version of this dataset is available as a table.

This table contains yearly estimates of the NZ population by age group by TA (2023).
The estimated resident population of each area is based on the Census "usually resident population" count, with further adjustments made to the data to reconcile for missed counts, migration, birth and death etc.
The estimated resident population is not directly comparable with the census "usually resident population count" because of these adjustments.
