Description:
Intended Purpose:
A polygon layer of precincts created for the IHP recommended version of the Wellington City Council Proposed District Plan as part of the District Plan Review Process. 

A precinct spatially identifies and manages an area where additional place-based provisions apply to modify or refine aspects of the policy approach or outcomes anticipated in the underlying zone(s). The precinct boundaries in the IHP recommended district plan include:

MRZ-PREC01 - Character Precincts
PORTZ-PREC01 - Inner Harbour Port Precinct
QUARZ-PREC01 - Kiwi Point Precinct
GRUZ-PREC01 - Makara Beach and Makara Village Precinct
GIZ-PREC01 - Miramar/Burnham Wharf Precinct
MRZ-PREC02 - Mt Victoria North Townscape Precinct 
PORTZ-PREC02 - Multi-User Ferry Precinct
MRZ-PREC03 - Oriental Bay Height Precinct
CCZ-PREC01 - Te Ngākau Civic Square Precinct

The precinct boundaries were subsequently amended following the recommendation from the IHP.
