Intended Purpose:
This layer shows the high coastal inundation hazard with the the 0.1 m depth bands intervals.
This illustrates the modelled inundation depths for coastal inundation and tsunami inundation that inform the spatial extent of the coastal hazard overlays included in the Wellington City Council District Plan 2024.
To determine whether Coastal Hazard provisions of the district plan apply to a specific property refer to the Coastal Hazard Overlay mapping contained in the Wellington City 2024 District Plan: Appeals Version.
The inundation depth data has been put into ‘depth bands’ to provide an indication of the severity of inundation at a site level for each scenario.
The inundation depths are based on ground levels determined as part of the modelling using 2019/20 LiDAR. If earthworks have reduced site levels then this will need to be taken into account in the consideration of appropriate floor levels of a building.
The raw raster data is available from Council on request.
