Description:
Purpose:

The purpose of this map is to inform and empower decision-makers at the appropriate levels of government to facilitate appropriate levels of resources are devoted where they are most needed.

Methodology:

Workloads of Disciplinary Hearing Officers (DHO) and DHO Secretaries were weighted by dividing the total number of greatest and high severity incident reports for each assigned institution, by the total number of these reports generated in their workload. Alternate DHOs were not considered due to the collateral duty nature of the assignment.

These numbers provide a percentage of time DHO staff devote to each institution. Total weighted percentages of time were then added for each DHO and DHO Secretary assigned for each institution. The data was then normalized by dividing the total number of incident reports generated at each institution by the total percent of DHO personnel time devoted to them. This data was then classified with a standard deviation.

The standard deviation classification outlines institutions with resource deficits, in which the workload divided by the devoted DHO personnel was greater than average. It further highlights areas of resource surpluses, in which the workload divided by personnel was less than average.
