Service Description: Wallowa County Livestock Early Warning System (WC-LEWS) products: 1) Forage estimates in lbs./acre, 2) forage difference from the 5-year average, 3) forage difference from last year, and 4) forage difference from 2021, our severe drought year. Estimates are based on Landsat satellite data from 10/1 to 11/6 in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2019-2023. Visual results have been summarized to average value per ecological type within each pasture (based on NRCS ESD and ESD predictions from a terrain analysis). Results are also provided in average value for each pasture (provided by land managers) or property (from state tax lot data).
