Service Description: This layer was developed by the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) for the Colony Island Network Design and Implementation (CINDI) pilot study, sponsored by the Knobloch Family Foundation, for the purpose of assessing foraging and nesting habitat along rookery islands between 1995-1996, 2008-2009, 2012, and 2018-2019 along the Lower Texas Coast.

Description: Manually-digitized rookery island foraging and nesting habitats for the Texas Lower Coast based on 2018 USDA NAIP 0.6-meter RGB aerial imagery and 2018-2019 USDA NAIP 0.6-meter RGB aerial imagery for Bahia Grande, Dead Pecker Hill, and Port Isabel Island rookery islands. Features have been classified by visual inspection. Features have been smoothed using 5-meter Paek algorithm, features <5 square meters have been eliminated, and checked for topological errors.
