This dataset contains 2023 information on public schools and post-secondary institutions in the State of Florida. It is a combination of schools and educational facility addresses from various sources, including the Florida Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Education National Center for Education Statistics, and other sources listed below. The data contains selected fields denoting the physical address, school number, district, and contact information for schools located in Florida. This data is meant to be used for planning purposes only and is not intended to represent a 100% inventory of schools. This dataset is an update to the GC_SCHOOLS_MAR21 layer. A previous version of this layer contained both public and private school information. A subset of private schools from that layer, GC_SCHOOLS_PRIV_SEP17, is available through FGDL. For this latest update, a corresponding schools boundary layer, GC_SCHOOLSBND_JUL23, is available through FGDL.
