Description: The Priority Interregional Highways (PIH) layer is a subset of the Interregional Road System (IRRS). The PIH routes are priority facilities identified within strategic corridors which are defined in the Interregional Transportation Strategic Plan (ITSP). This layer was dissolved down by Caltrans District, county, route, and road classification (RSYS).
The Postmile Validation Wizard, a component of the Postmile Toolbar application, was used to validate and generate this spatial data from postmile-referenced data table derived from the Transportation System Network (TSN) database. This application uses dynamic segmentation to return the linework represented in the postmile-referenced data table based on linear referencing system (LRS) linework. Both the LRS and the Postmile Toolbar application are maintained by Caltrans, Division of Research, Innovation and System Information (DRISI), Office of Data Analysis and Geographic Information Systems (ODAGIS).
