This was modified from the MNR layer called MUNIC_BND_LOWER_AND_SINGLE. Modification of the MNR layer was required because each district had beensplit into land, water, and islands, which did not lend well to our mapping display needs. Also, a number of errors were present in theoriginal MNR layer that the Geomatics section corrected.These errors were sent to the MNR on 08/01/2014 from Graham Good - a response was recieved stating the the approriate departments would be notified of these errors.

Other slight adjustments were made to make it consistent with the Municipality and Geographic Township layers in 2016.
