Description:

Core attribute data for Technical Objects are managed in SAP. A series of system processes join SAP attributes to GIS Geometry and attributes to create this output data.

This dataset is read-only. The geometry editing process is internal to DOC and is described in DOC's Confluence site.

Authorized SAP users can propose edits to features using the SAP Mobile tool, Blueworx, or via the integrated Geographic Enablement Framework (GEF) within the browser-based SAP solution.

GIS analysts review and approve edits into the core datasets. All edits must be performed against branch-versioned feature services in the SAP/GIS integrated solution.

This dataset is derived from the Core Edit services and built in DOC's internal GIS database, and subsequently copied to DOC's publication database, by an ETL process.

DOCgis and other downstream systems consume this derived data to maintain performance on the Core Edit services.

As this dataset is refreshed nightly, changes made to geometries or to SAP characteristic values will show the following day.

---Point Specific Information---

Line and polygon geometry Functional Locations and Equipment are processed into points so that Assets can be viewed consistently at all scales.

Use the field 'GeometrySource' and set the definition query to 'Point' (exclude 'Line centroid' and 'Polygon centroid') to return features that are natively stored as Points.

---Information for all geometry types---

See Metadata 'Lineage' for additional details.

See Metadata 'Fields' for definitions of data in individual fields.
