Tracking nests makes it possible to identify whether this life stage is a source of population decline due to site-specific variables. This information can then be used to target management efforts designed to mitigate Loggerhead Shrike declines. Food sources may play a vital role in nest success, and this project will also collect information on shrike larders, substrates upon which the birds impale and store food items for later consumption.
