This is point dataset which contains an FCC application number or registration number has been derived directly from the FCC, which is reviewed on an annual basis. Data that is not based upon FCC data is derived from applications submitted to Spotsylvania County for lease agreements, site plans, special use permits and building permits. The points are input into the GIS database via the latitude and longitude coordinates found in the FCC documentation. Coordinates were converted from a Degrees, Minutes, Seconds format to Decimal Degree format and height information was converted from meters to feet using ArcGIS tools within the ESRI ArcMAP platform. Coordinates in Virginia State Plane North are calculated using ArcGIS tools.
