Coastal Tidelands and Wetlands Act (S.C. Code Ann. Section 48-39-10 et seq.)
Coastal zone means all coastal waters and submerged lands seaward to the State's jurisdictional limits and all lands and waters in the counties of the State which contain any one or more of the critical areas. These counties are Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Horry, Jasper and Georgetown.
This boundary is an approximate representation of the S.C. Coastal Zone, reflecting the consolidated inland boundaries of the eight coastal counties, the Georgia/South Carolina state boundary, the Nortch Carolina/South Carolina state boundary, and the 3 nautical mile state waters.
