Service Description: The number of heating degree days per year reflects the amount of energy people use to heat buildings during the cool season.
Mean Heating Degree Days are simulated using a grid over the state. The mean heating degree days for the selected season are computed at each grid cell. The statewide seasonal mean is calculated by averaging these grid cell values over the whole state. Data presented shows the change in Heating Degree Days from a base year of 2020.
