Description:
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was United States (U.S.) legislation passed recently to provide assistance to U.S. citizens impacted by COVID-19. This federal funding program was expanded to assist local governments by allowing funds to be utilized for necessary investments in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure. Eligibility criteria are set by the U.S. Department of Treasury and information on the eligibility criteria are available here on their website. This layer updated periodically provides a tracking system for the status of ARPA projects which will be useful for the DEP grant managers assigned to oversee the grants process. For more information on the ARPA funding program please review this webpage on FloridaDisaster.org

This map layer contains the 113 locations of the ARPA grants with the State of Florida. The ARPA projects layer was developed by Jeohusua Lugo of FDEP to highlight the ARPA projects and provide specific fields that would be helpful for ARPA grant managers in reviewing and updating the progress of the ARPA grants. The projects address the risks of flooding or sea level rise but do not require a vulnerability assessment or a cost share requirement. Projects are evaluated and ranked by statutory criteria, Florida Statutes (F.S) Section 380.093(5)(h).
