This will provide value to customers who currently relay on calling council directly to lodge a Waste request often taking a considerable time to process. This will also support the Customer Service Representatives by reducing the traffic related to lodging Waste Requests by allowing for a self service solution and ensuring the right request is given to the correct contractor to resolve. The GIS Services will be used to confirm the address of the request being lodged, providing the necessary XY coordinates which will be used to query the Service Area Hosted Service and provide relevant information relating to Waste Services that are available at the specified address and by way of indicating the Contract Area Code. This information will then be consumed by a Downstream Hybris Solution which inturn will apply the necessary business rules based on the information provided by GIS via API Calls. Away from Waste Digitisation Epic the datasets will also serve as part of Open data access to the public allowing for High Availability of Important datasets, allowing for users to extract the data in bulk without impacting Enterprise Platforms.
