Service Description: Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, or IPLC, are communities that are dependent on natural resources for sustaining livelihoods and culture. We consider three IPLC groups that have the potential to be impacted by conservation decision-making. They include communities with green gentrification potential, indigenous communities, and communities employed in the natural resources industry. We use 2010 US census tracts to represent these communities and used the following criteria. Green gentrification potential - communities in the US Census urbanized area footprint and national 80th percentile for housing cost burden. Indigenous communities - communities that intersect indigenous land boundaries. Natural resource industry - communities in the national 80th percentile for percent of their working population in the natural resources industry.
