Description: Represents the footprint of a structure, deck/patio, pool, tennis court, or basketball court. In 1999, the City of Richmond was flown at a 6 inch orthophoto resolution, designed to support imagery and mapping at 1"= 100' (1:1200) scale mapping. The horizontal accuracy of the data is +/- 1 foot.Features were originally interpreted from 1999 orthophotography and have been maintained from site plans and other sources. In 2011, as part of the Utilities Department's stormwater project, Sanborn was contracted to capture any missing basemap features from the more recent 2009 ortho imagery. It was part of that effort when decks/patios, pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, and any missing sidewalks and all driveways (regardless of length) were captured. base_Structure now provides a more 'complete' representation of impervious surfaces structures that can be used for the stormwater program and for general basemapping purposes. The geographic extent of structures is limited to the City of Richmond. However, these features are not 'clipped' to the boundary. Rather, structures on the city boundary line are kept whole. The reason for this is that this data is also used for purposes supporting DPU's Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP); used by the processes supporting the UpTime product, that requires buildings remain whole (not clipped).
