Most recent Notices of Emergency (EMs) Timber Operations accepted by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection under the requirements of PRC §4592 and 14 CCR §§ 1052-1052.5 permitting the removal of timber on an emergency basis. Data set includes notices accepted in the current year, plus two preceding years. For previous years see data set CAL FIRE Emergency Notices Historical.
The California Forest Practice Rules define Emergencies as "conditions that will cause waste or loss of timber resources to the timber owner that may be minimized by immediate harvesting of infected, infested, or damaged timber or salvaging down timber", or other conditions causing economic loss. Emergency Notices are valid for one year after being accepted by the department.

Data is from 2014 to three years prior to the current calendar year (i.e. up to 2018 in 2021) but is primarily only from 2015 onward.
