The project proposes (in the Proposed Action) landscape restoration treatments on approximately 24,000 acres which would do the following: apply thinning, and regeneration treatments to forest stands followed by prescribed burning, improve wildlife habitat, and create a shaded fuelbreak. The project also proposed to improve water quality, enhance aquatic habitat, and restore riparian and floodplain function by reducing road-related impacts and managing recreation use in the Project area, with an emphasis on identifying and hardening primary dispersed recreation areas, improving and realigning existing trails, and developing new trail opportunities. This map compares watershed restoration improvements through road decommissioning, long-term closure and realignment. It also displays other road actions such as road conversion to trail. Recreation improvements displayed include new non-motorized and motorized trail, trail re-routes, proposed trailheads and a section of trail #198 proposed to be converted from non-motorized to two-wheel motorized trail.
