The layer was developed by compiling timber suitability data from each of the forest in the region. Arapaho-Roosevelt NF: This is a derived layer for RIS to identify Timber Suitability as described from the Forest Plan.Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, Gunnison NF: Lands evaluated for suitability for timber production in the 1991 Amended Land and Resource Management Plan for the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests.Medicine Bow-Routt/Thunder Basin NF: This spatial data shows areas suitable and not suitable for timber production on the Medicine Bow - Routt National Forests as determined respectively by the Medicine Bow National Forest Revised Land and Resource Management Plan (RLRMP) of 2003 and the Routt National Forest Revised Land and Resource Management Plan of 1997. This data was derived (dissolved) from the full timber suitibility data (see layers TimberSuitReasonMedBow and/or TimberSuitReasonRoutt) which has polygons and attributes for all the analysis components. The areas listed as suitable for timber harvest on the Medicine Bow portion do not include areas of cover type Aspen, as Aspen was not considered suitable for timber in the Medicine Bow RLRMP. The areas listed as suitable for timber harvest on the Routt portion do include areas of cover type Aspen, as some Aspen was considered suitable for timber in the Routt RLRMP.
