Description: There are four categories of Scenic River corridors and study areas within the Conservation Watersheds assessment area: 1) National Scenic River, 2) National Recreation River, 3) Designated River Study Area, 4) Eligible (per Forest Plan) Study Area. This layer produced by the Huron-Manistee National Forests shows the locations of the corridors, as polygons identified by category.

Description: <div><span style> </span>"Strongholds" for Brook Trout are resilient "population patches" as modeled by the Trout Unlimited Brook Trout Conservation Portfolio. Per Trout Unlimited, to meet this definition, population patches must have a documented population of 500 breeding adults or 2,500 total adults. In absence of population sampling information, these criteria were used 1) Include at least 25 km of potential brook trout habitat and 2) observation of a brook trout in a fish sampling dataset since 2000 or a stream segment with predicted brook trout habitat suitability in the US Geological Survey FishVis model.</div><div><br /></div><div>Quote from Trout Unlimited describing the Conservation Portfolio: "<span style="background-color:rgb(254, 254, 254); color:rgb(10, 10, 10); font-family:Maitree, serif;"><font size="3">The Conservation Portfolio uses the 3-R framework (Representation, Resiliency, and Redundancy) to evaluate each population patch for resiliency to disturbances, likelihood of demographic persistence, and representation of genetic, life history, and geographic diversity.
