This is a vector polygon dataset representing the Bear Management Areas features in Yellowstone National Park. These are areas of seasonal travel restrictions and closures that have been put in place to protect humans and bears. The seasonal restrictions reflect times of high bear use. This occurs especially in areas where critical food resources such as spawning trout or Whitebark Pine are located. Restrictions and closures are subject to change and/or areas can be closed off with little or no warning if park management staff feel that human\bear conflicts are likely. These regulations will apply to all trails passing through or bordering the management areas. This dataset is utilizing the updated Core Data Standard dated 08/10/2016.
