Hunting guide areas in Wrangell-St. Elias NPP that are managed by the Concessions group in the Alaska Regional Office. The original maps were digitized in AutoCAD from USGS 1:250000 Quad maps. More recently the drawing file was converted to ArcInfo coverage with a region subclass. A second region subclass was added to show the guide areas for 2000. In 2009 Joshua Scott digitized the boundaries to match the maps that are distributed with each contract by the parks concession office. The Fireweed area was eliminated per the parks's request. In 2018/19, the boundaries were adjusted based on input from WRST and the regional Concessions Management staff. They were adjusted for the following purposes:
1) To match the official Park, Preserve, and state Guide Management Unit boundaries.
2) To make neighboring boundaries topologically correct.
3) Using newly available 1:25K topo maps and higher resolution imagery, to align the boundaries with the geographic, trail and road features that they were meant to follow.
4) To divide the historic Shared Areas between the other Guide Use Areas.
