Description: Vegetation map of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River provides local park-specific names for vegetation types, as well as crosswalks to the National Vegetation Classification System (NVCS), including association, alliance and formation level attributes. Crosswalks to the NVCS were determined on March 7, 2006. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE GEOPROCESSING NOTE: National Park Service geospatial data for the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Vegetation Inventory Project were obtained by J. Chester in 2017 from the NPS Vegetation Inventory Project download portal. Published in 2008, the official NPS metadata note that this dataset was derived using a 2004 orthomosaic of the UPDE park. An abbreviated version of this metadata is included here for reference. A complete copy of the metadata can be found at UPDE_ProjectReview_Metadata\Vegetation . OFFICIAL NATIONAL PARK SERVICE METADATA: To provide an up-to-date digital geospatial vegetation database containing base line information about the park's vegetation associations to the park's resource managers in order to ensure effective, long-term management of the natural resources held in trust.
