Description: The Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail commemorates the 1965 voting rights march led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The marchers walked along U.S. Highway 80 from Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church in Selma, AL, to the State Capitol in Montgomery. The march helped inspire passage of voting rights legislation signed by PresiĀ­dent Johnson on Aug. 6, 1965.
