Description: In September 2014, major drainages of Santa Rosa Island were surveyed for visible water. Water location is critical for wildlife management, visitor use, cultural significance, and geologic understanding of the island. Previously, all knowledge of water location on the typically dry island was anecdotal. The survey created a highly detailed map of surface water during the dry fall months in a drought year.
