Description: This data set, an ESRI ArcGIS shapefile, contains lines that represent the designated route of the Overmountain Victory Trail as depicted in the 1982 Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail Comprehensive Management Plan Map Supplement (see cross references below). As designated by the U.S. Congress, the Overmountain Victory Trail follows as closely as possible the route throught the states of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina that was taken by revolutionary war patriots marching to fight in the Battle of Kings Mountain in South Carolina on October 17, 1780.
