Description: IPP was developed around the Invasive Plant Management Team (IPMT) Program that was created in 2000 as a result of the NPS Natural Resource Challenge. The IPMT Program provides “boots-on-the-ground” invasive plant management assistance and expertise to park units across the country. The NPS Washington Office funds 15 teams. Two additional teams were formed through base increases for a park and for an Inventory & Monitoring Network. The IPP and IPMT produce an annual report each year summarizing the program’s accomplishments. IPMT liaisons (team coordinators), IPMT data managers, IPMT field crew leaders, and IPMT field staff provide specialized scientific and technical assistance to and across all organizational levels of the NPS.
