This update to the 2016 revision was delived to GLAC from NPS Lands as version 20170818. The Project command was used to convert the coordinate system from GCS to UTM zone 12 meters (Nad83).
The current administrative boundary for Glacier National Park (GLAC), Montana. This data set is an April 2016 revision to the most recent prior published administrative boundary for GLAC, published in 2003. The 2016 update reflects input from multiple sources that include the NPS Lands Program, Flathead National Forest, and the GLAC GIS Program; this update addresses mapping shortfalls in the 2003 version that were possile to improve based on improved image data (i.e. NAIP). Additionally the 2016 revision accounts for changes to the main channel location for the North Fork and Middle Fork of the Flathead River, which respectively form the west and south boundary of GLAC.
Note, this is version 2 of the updated boundary, completed in August 2016 and correcting/revising the April 2016 edits to the Middle Fork Flathead River portion of the GLAC boundary. This Aug 2016 delineation uses the above described data sources and attempts to interpret and delineate the current "north bank" of the river, which according to GLAC's enabling legislation is where the park administrative boundary is located.
