Description: This dataset contains kilometer post locations from 2018 in the Maryland district of Assateague Island National Seashore (ASIS). Kilometer posts are placed every kilometer, or more frequently, to aid in navigating and documenting island location. They start at the Ocean City inlet and continue to the Maryland/Virginia state line. These posts are an essential landmark both on the island, and in maps, as there are few recognizable landmarks on significant stretches of Assateague Island.
