Description: Designated (maintained) trails of the North Cascades National Park Service Complex. These were originally digitized from 1:24,000 scale USGS quadrangles on an Altek digitizing tablet. When DOQs became available sections of trail visible on the photos were corrected. In some cases the trails were not mapped by the USGS, so trails were roughed in using GreenTrails topographical (analog) maps. These too have been corrected where possible using DOQs, ranging from B&W DOQs from the late 1990s to 0.3 meter color DOQs in the border region. In a few areas where USGS had put the trail on the wrong side of a forested drainage, but it was not visible from the air -- we have roughed in the correct route by field checking. A very few sections of trail have been GPS-d.
