This feature class was delivered as separate polygons. Nothing wrong with that. But to be consistent with past practices, ran the DISSOLVE command to group all the polygons into one multipart polygon. Then added an ACRES field (as double) and calculated acres geometry. Now when clicking on the polygon one will get the acreage for the entire permit area with just one click.

These data were received from Daniel Schiff. In an email, he writes:

Hi Greg,

In the attached file, you will find a feature dataset with 2 GIS layers.

“expanded_study_area_for_BUOW_conservation” contains the areas outside of the study area that are included within the Expanded study area for the burrowing owl.

“hcp_nccp_boundary_Analysis2012” is the permit area for the Habitat Plan that we discussed that the meeting that does not contain the state parks lands (Romero Ranch and Henry W. Coe parks).
