Description: The National Center for Education Statistics' (NCES) Education Demographic Geographic and Economic Statistics (EDGE) branch develops annually updated demographic estimates using the Spatially Interpolated Demographic and Economic (SIDE) estimates project. The SIDE creates geostatistical layers of the income to poverty ratio (IPR) by applying a spatial model to ACS household records with school aged (5-18 years old) children. The geostatistical layers are then used to predict values of IPR (estimates and spatial standard error) at school locations within the layer.
