Description: MECON2700 contains areas in Maine with elevations greater than 2700 feet, generated from USGS 1:250,000 DEMs. Areas above 2700 feet are regulated by the Maine Land Use Planning Commission (MELUPC). Areas were generated from USGS 1:250,000 scale digital elevation models using Arc/Info software. Polygons are coded by elevation range. Due to the nature of the source data, the positional accuracy of these elevation areas varies from good to poor. Use of these data at scales of greater then 1:250,000 not recommended.
