Description: This dataset sets out the final Nitrate Vulnerable Zone designations, following appeals, that came into force in 2017.Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs) are areas designated as being at risk from agricultural nitrate pollution.The designations are made in accordance with the Nitrate Pollution Prevention Regulations 2015. Waters are defined within the Nitrates Directive as polluted if they contain or could contain, if preventative action is not taken, nitrate concentrations greater than 50mg/l. Nitrate Vulnerable Zones are reviewed every 4 years.This dataset supersedes the previous ‘Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZ) - 2017 Pre-appeals' dataset.
