Description: Spatial representation of DOC's land management units defined by various acts of parliament and legislation. The attributes in this dataset are derived from the National Property and Land Information System (NaPALIS), which is a centralised database for all Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and Department of Conservation (DOC) administered land. Public Conservation Land (abbreviated to PCL) parcels are defined geographically, recognised, dedicated and managed, through legal or other effective means, to achieve the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values. New Zealand's Public Conservation Land is managed under four main laws.
